EEEEEEP!!! My fat fingers scrubbed the "/" key while editing FSTAB

I accidentally added a / to the very begining of my /etc/FSTAB file.

/LABEL= / ......etc

Now when I boot up it says some funky stuff about hitting Ctrl +D or enter root password to repair. But, when I enter passwd and go in it says Repair #1 : <enter command here>.

After I open the FSTAB file and edit the text to read correctly, I try to save and it says "Cant save. Read Only FileSystem" All I need to do is remove that one stinking "/". But I cant find a way to edit it without being in ReadOnly Mode.

Remount the root partition in read-write mode first and then edit the file.

/bin/mount -n -o remount,rw /

That worked like a charm. Thanks for the info. I must have read that 'man 8 mount' document 20 times and I still would have never found that particular cmdline. Just so ya know, atleast one more person on earth thinks you are a LinuxBadAss. Thanks again.
