Easystroke cant record gesture

So im trying to setup easystroke but im having problems recording the gestures.

I apply the command and when i click to "Record Stroke" im prompted with "The next stroke will be associated with 'command'..." etc. but i cant seem to record any gestures after that message.

did i forget to do something?
Do i have to change any settings?

Btw i installed it through Package Manager

Hi,

I'd like to add a little about my experience seting up Easystroke.
I just installed Ubunutu 10.04LTS on a Toshiba M750 (PPM75U-09701Q), and grabbed cellwriter, dasher, and easystroke with Synaptic.

The documentation for easystroke says, hit actions, click add action, then record stroke.
That didn't work, I had the same problem as eeeBu. Gestures were being completely ignored.
The trick was on the Preferences tab, under Behavior. Hit the Gesture Button button, then touch the pen in the box like you are going to write something, and easystroke will set that as your input.
Now on the Preferences tab, adjust your Timeout profile. With the default timeout, easystroke interfered with other input programs.

Devices can be enabled at the bottom of the Advanced tab, but I didn't have to mess with anything there.
