Cool E-Mail Configuration

Okay here is the scenario. I own the domain name vincentmerlino.com. Since I have changed my domain I have not recieved one e-mail. All the programs are trying to send e-mail to root@localhost.localdomain. I'm a complete newbie in the Linux e-mail area. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

There are several email servers for linux.
They are all a little different.
Different distros may do things a little bit different as well.

All I can say is vincentmerlino.com is not answering at the
ip address it's pointing to.

Your DNS registration is not correct or your machine is turned off, or firewalled.

dig vincentmerlino.com

I don't understand? vincentmerlino.com is not responding to the IP address? The website works. (www.vincentmerlino.com) Have I possibly set up my network configuration wrong?

no your dns does not work, or your machine is firewalled.

When you say it works, where are you trying it from.

It looks like this is not your ip address

vincentmerlino.com. 7200 IN A 68.46.125.139

if it is then you have the internet interface firewalled

Your web server (port 80) is available from the internet, your smtp (port 25) is not. Is it firewalled? Is the smtp server up and running? Can you telnet to port 25 on the machine?

Also you might want to add a MX record for vincentmerlino.com to your DNS information.

your site is working now, before it was not.

so you have your server running.

Your mail server does not appear to be running, or it is not listening to the internet interface.
