Dual Boot with Encrypted LVM

Hi Guys,

I'm trying to setup a Dualboot Debian Wheezy + Kali on a shared LUKS LVM.

I've got a 300MB ext4 boot partition and an encrypted volume containing 3GB swap (shared between the O.S) and my two root partitions (not interested in separate home folders as the drive is just 40GB and sharing one would just cause problems with differing program versions).

Debian Wheezy is up and running, now to setup Kali I boot onto my Live CD, load additional components 'crypto-dm-modules' then before partitioning I open a terminal with Alt+F2, install cryptsetup with 'anna-install cryptsetup-udeb' unlock my encrypted LVM with 'cryptsetup luksOpen /dev/sdc6 LUKS001'. I was expecting to add a line to /etc/crypttab so that it unlocks my LUKS on boot but it's a blank file.. I proceeded to install the system but as expected it fails to locate the Volume group, and exits to shell. Anyone able to give me a little guidance here? I know it's not your average build.. But I'm keen to have this shared LUKS container (I'm an IT Engineer, Kali is for clients and I like the concept of one crypto container with shared swap - Cheers

Gar! Annoying..

I've just ran back through this and I must have installed Kali first last time, can't unlock LVM in the Kali installer, throws errors from device-mapper 'reload ioctl on temporary-cryptsetup-7340 failed: No such device or address' (after prompt for passphrase), Debian loads fine (after mucking about with gfx driver a little).

I suspect I am making this way too hard for myself!! Might have to accept that I need two swap spaces, one outside the encrypted LVM, not as nice so if any of you legends can help with setting up one Encrypted LVM with two linux dirstos inside, let me now! I will be muchos grateful!!!
