Yes and yes. YaST will probably have another frontend for Parted, but that is generally what is suggested for resizing linux partitions. Always, always always always... backup before dorkin with a partition. Parted is nice, and generally works well. But if you have data that you will be very upset you have lost, back it up. Don't have room? Burn it. Burners are dirt cheap as of late, even a DVD burner can be had for less than 50 bucks, and that's at least 4.7GB per disc.
