doing a dual boot between RH and win xp is pretty easy as long a s you follow the install!! it is pretty straight forward. Boot up with your Rh Cd in your drive and you are off!! Install your boot loader to the MBR but make sure you put a boot name on your windows partition!
I've got xp and linux on my thinkpad. works pretty well but you have to follow set up correctly. put your linux on after loading XP otherwise xp will wipe everything.
only thing I cant do at the moment is look at the windows partition from linux, not sure why yet
good luck
the only way you can look at your windows partion from linux is if the windows is on another box as far as i know!! i know samba will let you look at a windows partion from linux and vise versa but as for being able to look at your windows from linux on the same bos i do not think you can do that !!
You can look at your Windows space in Linux on the same machine, but only if the Windows space is mounted. You will want to mount the XP space as read-only, assuming that XP was installed on NTFS, as NTFS write support is iffy at best under Linux. Many people report that they can write to their NTFS space from Linux with no problems, others report horrible things happening to NTFS. Just remember that NTFS write support in Linux is experimental, therefore iffy.
