Unhappy Downloading Problems from Red hat site

Hi,

Wonder if anyone can offer any help. I'm trying to down load Red Hat Linux V9 and every time (tried about 10 times now) the linux installer tells me I've got a bad download or bad disc when I test the media.

Im using WinXP and BT Broadband 512k with an Alcatel 330 USB modem. I've tried using WS_FTP V7, FTP through IE, FTP through the command line and HTTP through IE and get the same result every time.

It has now become a personal crusade to get this downloaded without placing an order for the media with Red Hat!

I've tried mirror sites and all sorts.

One thing I have noticed is the connection properties sometimes reports errors in the recieved column of the panel. My understanding of this was transmission errors which had been retransmitted again successfully. I thought that the application layer would never receive a transmitted packet that was recieved in error. Can anyone clarify this? Phoned BT and they were about as much help as you would expect.

I don't have issues browsing the net and I have downloaded a 600 mb file from the Microsoft web site without any problems.

Any help would be greatly appriciated - this has started to drive me mad.

Thanks,

Dan.

I would see if you could download it using BitTorrent. Check out the sourceforge page for it for more info. I am assuming RH9 is available through BT somewhere.

I don't remmember the last time I dowloaded an iso from RH directly, do they have mirrors?
If they do, try/use another one instead.
Or you may try http://www.linuxiso.org/ they have ALOT of distros, and mirrors aswell ;-)
