Download from ftp site freezes browser
 

I have tried with firefox and konqueror.Both browsers freeze whenever I want to download form an ftp site-in particular berlios.
Any help?

Try using wget. Are the results any different?

maybe I should have posted to the newbie section as I am not well versed to command line?
Anyway NO DOWNLOAD is possible now.any attempt to download anything freezes the browser.
As I dual boot to windows,no problem in downloads using windows so this is not a hardware issue.
Perhaps I am going to reinstall linux(kanotix BH) as this is a fairly new installation.
BTW,I can download before no problems.This only happened when I installed some programs-unfortunately I lost track of which is the culprit program.
