Doub with beowulf cluster, just fo specific tasks or something more?
Hi everyone, I was reading about beowulf clusters and I have a doubt, a cluster is just for specific tasks like compilation, rendering and so on or a cluster helps things like desktop environments and day-to-day software in a machine?
It's for big processing campaigns. Video rendering, large atmospheric models, etc. The overhead required to set up and orchestrate all of the nodes would offset any benefit you would get out of them for simple little tasks like web browsing or email.
