Hi guys, i just installed redhat 7.3 and almost everything is working but there are still some problems so please bare with me. Anyhow, i can't 'ping www.yahoo.com' but i can 'ping 64.58.79.230' (which is yahoo's IP address). WHen i do 'ping www.yahoo.com' i get

ping: unknown host www.yahoo.com.

I know the internet works fine and everything because I can log in to my ftp server from the internet.
THerefore, im assuming something is not installed or not working (DNS?) Can someone help me fix this...i hate being a noob and im trying to slowly get out of that stage hehhe...thanx for any advice i get

Yeah i remember when i first installed linux i spend hours and hours tryina figure this one out. It seems that you not looking at your name server

just open and edit /etc/resolv.conf and add

nameserver (the nameserver of your isp)

then all will be fine
