.doc file to pdf

I have a .doc file that I can view in openoffice.org but I want to make it a .pdf file if it is possible with Linux tools. Does anyone know the commands and utilities by any chance?

In OpenOfficeWriter you can print to file a .doc file as postscript or pdf. It worked, although it is a little rough on the edges. I was able to get about 90% of it though on pdf. Thanks for everyones assistance.

In OOo Writer:
  • Open the file and make any necessary adjustments (they don't always look exactly right).
  • Print to a postscript (ps) file and then
  • use the lovely commandline utility ps2pdf (should be part of any recent distro) to convert it to a pdf file.
Works a treat.
