Do you still need grub if you have a single boot system?
 
Do you still need grub if you have a single boot system? Because I switched completely to Linux and I still installed grub during setup.

Yes you still need a boot loader. You could set the timeout to zero ( 0 ) so it boots directly.

yes u need a booloader,even for 1 single option
because the control is passed to the bootloader on MBR

open up this file

/boot/grub/menu.lst


and set timeout to 0
