Hello I very much like the idea of doing an install of Gentoo from my current hard drive distro (kubuntu) . I have previously done it the more traditional way of mini install disk and gentoo manual.

Are there any good guides, links, tips you could give to get me up to speed on doing this ? I am assuming most of the gentoo manual info will be relevant after a few initial steps. But what would the best the best steps in getting a good installation going this way ?


I will be installing from sdb master drive (kubuntu) over my sda (Fedora) drive.

Have a look at the gentoo site - in the install docs.

I have indeed been there I have the install manual and such, but there is no guide to install from another distro and specific requirements. I know the install docs will cover 95% of the install but its just the first 5% I need. It will be the first time I have done install this way.

Have you been able to do this ? Did you use a guide ? If yes I would appreciate a link to the how-to you used.

Perhaps you should look some more. Never bothered, but this seems to cover most "alternate" options.
