DNS Server error log for monitoring purpose

Good day everyone,

I am implementing monitoring stuff for a client who has a DNS Server running on Linux and I need an info, I hope someone can help me.

When you run a DNS server under Microsoft, there is a file system error log where every errors related with DNS are logged. What/where file system we should look under Linux, if there is one, I guess.

Or what will be the best file system to search the DNS errors for monitoring purpose.

Check your /etc/named.conf file. there are several options related to logging. "man named.conf" and look at logging section.
You can use a program like logalert or watchlog to receive an e-mail notification when some pattern is detected in the log file.
