DNS: from command line?

Hi,

I need to resolve the name of a computer on my network, given its IP address. How can I use lookup or dns from command line to do so?

Thanks,
Ashlesha.

Try nslookup
For example:
nslookup 192.168.0.1
Server: 192.168.0.1
Address: 192.168.0.1#53
1.0.168.192.in-addr.arpa name = asus.mydomain.com.

Alternatively, try 'host' and 'dig'. The output of each is better for use in certain circumstances.
