Distro idea

hey
i would love to make a new distro for personal use, and maybe free release to the public.

i have searched, but i cannot find a distro for my use

what is my use? i want a distro with kde, fluxbox, openoffice, kernel 2.6, and LOTS OF GAMES

i want something for daily use that has the stuff i need and runs fast. i would make it a bootable, live cd like knoppix.

ideas? i think it might be based upon suse or knoppix, or i will find a tutorial

take a look at http://slax.linux-live.org/
it's based on slackware and best of all, it's designed to fit 8cm CDs, so you can add all your stuff and record on conventional CD
It also has tools to help you make your own distro :)

Yes, but slax (and the linux-live scripts it uses to create a live CD) require a filesystem which is AFAIK unable to be compiled into 2.6.x kernels, which means no 2.6.x based CD's can be produced at the moment from linux-live scripts.

i think it would be real small to burn a disk so if i cut it down real real small to just kernel, icewm, and games, it would be maybe 20 floppys :D

i might not use kde, it would slow down my old rig if it wasn't for 1 gig of swap. i might go blackbox or icewm. and then i would use abiword, gnumeric, gimp, and games, games everywhere. i might not need a 2.6 kernel, maybe 2.4x would be ok 2. any estimates on iso size?
