Distributions that are NUMA aware?

Does anyone here use a motherboard that is NUMA aware? I searched google but didn't come up with much luck. The only info I got was that since kernal 2.6 it was supported. When reading some reviews it was stated that only a select few linux distros support NUMA(and ofcourse the beta of windows 64). Can I just re-compile to the newest kernel or are there only certin distros that can support it?
