disk_space-software related problem

Hi i am a newbie
MY problem is
I HAVE a 40 gb HD and i have created a 4gb JFS journalized partition 4 linux...
I installed PC LINUX OS so i created 2 swap partitions (dunno what i was thinking)
now my diskspace is virtually full (less then 500 kb free)
the problem is i JUST INSTALLED PCLINUX OS and NVIDIA DRIVERS AND FLUXBOX (configuration tool only -fluxbox came in the distro)
NOW OUT OF THE BLUE I COME TO KNOW THAT MY DISK SPACE IS NOT ENOUGH \
SO IS THER A SWAP ON THE JFS DRIVE ALSO ??!!!
HOW CAN I RESIZE MY PARTITION( INCREASE ITS SIZE)
WHATS THE PROBLEM IN THE FIRST PLACE

List out the partitions along with its use so, we know the partition layout and what use you have for each of the partitions. An output of the comannd fdisk -l would be a lot helpful.

SORRY ---- MY FAULT .......... THE MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS ARE 6GB OF HD SPACE SO OBVIOUSLY THIS EXPLAINS EVERYTHING....
4 GB WAS NOT ENOUGH ....................... I WAS WRONG
---
NOW I ALSO HAVE ENCOUNTERED SOME DATA ERROR ON THIS hd AND I LIL HAVE TO FORMAT THE ENTIRE DISK (SEGATE DISK MANAGER I LIL USE [HD IS OF SEAGATE]
--- i wanna know the commands with which i can create an OPTIMUM jfs partition (i mean the inode size , i can afford a seperate partition for journaling , also tell me reasonable block size for optimum performance )
i need 8 gb of storage space and i can have maximum of 10 gb space for the JFS partition ...

It is very hard to follow what you are doing when you put up multiple posts.

Please verify----You want Linux-only, with a FAT partition also (Why??--if it is Linux-only, then FAT does nothing for you)

Swap can be anywhere on the drive--many installations have it at the end

I ApOLOGIZE for the inconvinence ACTUALLY I ALSO HAVE ANOTHER DRIVE ON WHICH I USE WINDOWS ... on this 40 gb drive i can spare about 14 gb of space for linux the rest would go for fat partitions (me a newbie so i NEED FAT PARTITIONS 2 KEEP SOME DATA) [LINUX IS STILL not used by me as a stand alone OS)
-Back to linux partitions
in that 14 gb (i reserve for linux)
so 14 gb -3gb for swap = 11gb available for THE "/" partition (i dont go in hustle of creating different folders in different partitions (I am the sole linux user on that linux system )
the file system i would like for / partition is JFS (journalized ) and i needed commands to optimize it like increase block size , do that thing with INODE , place journale in another partition (i read em an an article yesterday but couldnot understand how to do it )
--THANKS AGAIN--
