Disabling kudzu?

Hey y'all

I'm just wondering if it's safe to disable kudzu during startup, since I'm not installing any new hardware any time soon. Or does kudzu do some configuring every time the computer starts? I don't want to screw up my computer if I disable it.

no problems occur in rh9 if kudzu is disabled. i usually just run it on a machine when i add or change the hardware configuration.

cheers, -bp

Kudzu itself barely does any configuration. It mostly just creates a text file that is used to insmod appropriately during boot up.

Unless you are adding something new, it is perfectly 100% safe to turn of Kudzu during startup.

For that matter it's safe to have it off even when you add something new.. just that new something isn't going to work because the right kernel modules won't be loaded.
