devices in /etc/fstab don't auto mount at startup :


Hello,...

im running knoppix on my hd.
i have edited my /etc/fstab and added sevrel entries :

/dev/hdc /media/cdrom1 iso9660 defaults,ro,users,noexec,noauto 0 0
/dev/hdd /media/cdrom2 iso9660 defaults,ro,users,noexec,noauto 0 0
#/dev/dvd /media/dvd iso9660 defaults,ro,users,noexec,noauto 0 0
#my addition ..
/dev/hdb3 /mnt/ds ext3 default,rw
but after each boot it won't mount

try adding the Zeroes
/dev/hdb3 /mnt/ds ext3 default,rw 0 0

defaults, not default

Also, did you create the directory /mnt/ds?

...and do you see something in /var/log/messages or /var/log/boot ?
