Deleting Source Files?


i Just wan't to be clear on this. when you download a program and untar it say in /usr after the cimpile and install you should delete the source tree that was made in/usr Right?

You may delete it if you don't need it. Keeping source may be useful in case of programs you can use 'make uninstall' to uninstall them.
NOTE: Sources are usually kept in /usr/src or /usr/local/src, not /usr
