deleted /usr/share


[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
What can I do to recover or restore /usr/share? I accedentally deleted the entire directory.

Ouch, recovering delted files is no mean task. I would recommend that you unmount the file system that conatins this directory ASAP to prevent further overwriting of files.

If this includes your a good part of your OS, you may need to lean on a live OS CD such as Knoppix. For details I would look at:
