Hi,
As some of you probaly know in Windows you have to regulary make a Defrag to make programs run faster.
Is there something similar in Linux or don't I have to defrag? If not please explain me why
Thanks

Rep:
the short answer is yes there are such utilities, the long answer is while there are, the linux native filesytems handle most of the defragging automatically so a defrag in linux is almost redundant, such being there are very few utilities made to defrag linux filesystems and the need to manually defrag a linux system is very close to nill, in short, don't worry about defragging your linux system
Lets see if I understud:
You can do a defrag in Linux but it doesn't make a big difference because ext2 and all those filesystems do like a automaticly defrag.
Thats great!!!
Bye Defrag!
