Dedicated System

Hi there,

I didn't quite know where to put this thread but i guess here is a good area.

What i would like is a system that when switched on it boots as normal loading things such as networking and all that jazz.

The main requirement i have is that when it loads into a window manager it only loads a web browser such as Mozilla Firefox. This browser window should be the only thing the user can interact with. There should be no other possible commands.

It should not be possible to terminate the browser window.

Can anyone tell me where to start with this kind of thing or any alternative method that would do a similar kind of job.

Thanks in advance for your help. If you need any more info please just ask.

Thanks again.

Jon

Most simply, you can set the access permissions so that the normal operator cannot get to any of the application files---nor to a terminal.

a more extreme solution is to not install anything but the browser during the OS install....then remove everything that you were not able to stop in this way.

I'm not sure how to disable the close button on an app window.....
