decoding shell script

i'm new in the linux world
i faced encoded shell script
if u see this post

the script shell was encoded and end with sh.x and sh.x.c
the problem is how to decode this file?
can i do
the programe was used in
is shc Version 3.8.9, Generic Script Compiler

The legal way is to ask the person who encoded it for the source.

and the answaer was
u lost the orginal file -_-

Definitely a learning experience where you learn to retain original source, and a record of the process which you used to transform the content from one form to another.

My rule of thinking is the following:

1. You created the original. You're not capable of replicating what you did?
2. From what you have, it is either possible to reverse engineer, versus not. If possible, it is next a question of whether it is worth your time to do this versus re-do your original efforts.
3. We all learn new techniques at doing stuff. If this script is less than a year (or some acceptable time frame) old (a) definitely applies. If the script is very old, then one would wonder if a more current way to do things would be applicable.
4. What about looking in to file recovery? Like Photorec or another file recovery mechanism where you apply it to a known source directory location where you know you once had the source and have a possibility of recovery some or all of that original source?
