Datarecovery on encrypted LVM ext3 with bad superblocks

Hello everyone

This is my first time, so please be gentle.. ;)

By mistake i removed a directory yesterday and have spent quite some time trying to figure out how - if possible - to recover.

My system is Fedora 11 (upgraded from 10->11), running on a laptop, with default (LVM) partion layout and luks encryption..

On the list of what I've tried is
lsof: which by simple grep doesn't seem to know anything about my missing directory

debugfs: which fails due to bad superblock

ext3grep: which also fails due to bad superblock

If anyone has any suggestions on what to do *please* let me know. I'm rather familiar with linux on a general level, but not with the file system hardware low level-stuff. :/

Will it affect my chances of recovery to try to use fsck to fix the bad superblocks?

Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately no luck with that one either (it didn't fail due to the superblock errors but didn't seem to know anything about it.

I think I'll give up, start reconstructing the content of the dir and take backups.. :/

But thanks. :)
