You'd go right back to www.codeweavers.com where you got the demo software.
Click on the documentation.
Actually Read it this time.
And follow the instructions in the chapter labled... (gasp.) INSTALL!
You really should read documentation before you ask for help, because, most likely, if its something that's on the first page of documentation, No one will help you.
I wouldn't install this POS software if I were you. Even if you're a noob. It screwed up my system bad. Good thing I didn't pay for it, I just installed the demo. Stick with normal wine and wineX
Comanies shouldn't expect you to pay for software that doesn't work. I have used free software better than this.
It messed up my browser's plugins, and now my Mozilla is all f-ed up. I may have to reinstall everything again. I don't even have use of the back buttons!
It comes with a handy uninstall program that promises to remove all plugins and stuff it put in, but when I ran it - shock - there was an error and it wouldn't even completely uninstall! Now I'm really screwed.
Best thing to do is learn how to compile from source. It takes awhile to compile, but you get less problems, I think.
Forget RPM's too, they'll drive you crazy. Most don't even work, especially on RH9 because it's too new.
To answer your question about installing software, when you download it doesn't matter what user account you are in. Only when you install software you should been in root. What shell you are using doesn't matter either.
Hint: If you are in a normal user account, and you are at the command line, just type in su and enter pswd to be in root instead of loggin in and out. I didn't know that when I was brand-new.
Try to learn some basic linux techniques from tutorials on the internet. I found a bunch on google. that will help in the long run
