cron job: day of month / day of week conflict?

If I set a cron job up as

1 1 * * fri

isn't there a conflict because I'm telling it to run every day of the month, but at the same time only on a friday?

Similarly with

1 1 1 * *

I'm telling it to run on the first of the month, but at the same time to run every day of the week?
