Creative Sound Cards compatible with Linux?

Is there a web-site that lists sound cards that are compatible with Linux?
I am thinking of buying one of the following sound cards:

Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 PCI OEM
Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy ES PCI Sound Card, Model "SB0162" -OEM

Obviously I don't want to spend the money if they won't work "resonably" well with Linux.

I have a home-brew box running Mandrake 9.1. Gnome is my GUI.

Thank you

This is a first for me: I'm answering my own question.

http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Sound-HOWTO/x96.html

is what I was looking for. The Soundblaster Live! is supported in kernel 2.4.4. It doesn't look like the Audigy is supported in Linux at all. Also, it seems as if the Audigy is no longer supported by Creative Labs.

Creative Labs Soundblaster is very common. So as long these cards came out before Mandrake 9.1 you should be ok.

But go www.google.com/linux and do a search on these two cards just to be sure.

Hope this helps.

kernel 2.4.4 will be hard to find, unless you go to a archive somewhere. I believe that you'll find the Live! is compatible with any fairly modern distro, meaning 2.4.18 and up. The audigy is supported as well. If you use ALSA for your sound, you'll have no real problems with the Creative cards. The audigy, I am told, is well supported and sounds quite good. Dunno. I'm using the SB Live! Gamer that my brother gave me for free. Not special install issues for me, and I've used many a distro (I'll list them if I have to. )
