Putting multiple users in one group in one shot

Hello to everybody,

Suppose, if I have thousands users in an organization, and I have to put 100 users in one group which I have newly created. How could I do it? With usermod command, I can add one user at a time into
the new group. So kindly help me out in the situation.

Regards,

Hrishikesh

first make the list of users with required details and password (or use a password generator) and write a script to do it. In enterprise editions, specific ways will be available.
See the RH system administration book or more recent ones for example.

Thanks Mani for the quick response, but I know little about writing script, so can you please guide me or give a reference to particular RH system administration book so I can refer.

Regards,

Hrishikesh

This will be good. The Redhat admin book is older and can be downloaded free.
'RUTE' is very practical too (can be installed in *buntu)
