Creating a network traffic


hiya
i am doing some experiments on the linux machines in my lab...
for that i need to create a network traffic and then save the packets from that traffic to a file... can anybody help me in this regard
plz explain thoroughly...

Someone correct me if i'm wrong, but I think you could mount a shared folder on Computer A on Computer B, and then write random data to a file on that share.
Unless you need specific data, in that case i'd suggest copying a large file with known content into the share and try monitoring that.
