create your own ISO image files

Hi

is it possible to download an entire build tree directory for a distro and then use it to create your own ISO cd's. for example in the case of Suse, where they dont offer iso's to download (but an FTP install, which i am aware of) , is it possible to download the enitre 8.2 build tree directory and then use that to create iso's . becase the image files needed for both boot floppy and cd are in the tree as well.

my concern is how would you split this entire thing into 3.4. 5 cd's . where do you decide to split them up, what goes on what cd etc etc.

has anyone tried this before, or is this not an option?

thanks.

hi ,

so i just run that command and point it to the directory containng the entire suse 8.2 build tree?

does it just create one big iso or does it have options to split it to fit on cd's?

thanks.

you'll have to split it into separate trees beforehand based on the CD capacity (or perhaps one DVD-R would hold everything if you have a DVD burner).

for all the command options, see man mkisofs
(for example, I assume you would want to make the first disc bootable, there's an option for this)
