Create new partition from existing free space

Hello!

I'm trying to create a new partition using my existing free HD space to install Damn Small Linux along side Fedora Core 2 and Windows XP.

What is the best method/tool for this?

Thanks,
Nathan

Use linux parted or QTParted, which is somewhat like PartitionMagic, to create the partition(s).

I'm having some trouble with parted. I installed it using apt, but then I get a

"bash: parted: command not found"

error when I try to invoke it.

Log in as the root user and call parted again. Invoking su doesn’t have the desired effect in FC for some reason.

Also, I thought parted was already installed in all FCs. I never had to install it.

Sorry for the long delay in replying to your post. "real life" has held me hostage for some time, but I know it's rude to just leave you hanging. I apologize.

Logging in as root had the desired effect.

Thanks for your helpful post!

Sincerely,
Nathan
