Hmm, where to start?
#1 I just started noticing this but I think it has been going on for a while now. When ever the CPU is under moderate usage the sound starts making random popping and clicking noises. In xmms, I can see the pops in the analyzer. In addition to this, whenever I dial to the internet, the sound gets corrupted. I think that this might be tied to #2. I have a Soundblaster Live! card.
#2 I had just attempted to upgrade my kernel, and it worked! YAY! but then I realized that ALSA didnt work. So I returned to my old kernel and remade my NVIDIA drivers. Now, There are little red pixels on my monitor sometimes, and the titlebars get discolored. The thing is, before I recompiled them, they worked fine. Is the package somehow corrupted now? I have dial up and i don't want to re-download all 8 MBs of the driver.
#3 On SuSE, is there any way to see which packages aren't being used by anything? I really want to free up some disk space, and I have all these random RPMS installed. Im not sure which ones i can remove.
Thats all i can think of right now. I did a lot of *experimenting* on this install of SuSE and so I'm sure things are messed up. My idea of learning is to delete something and see what goes wrong
Should i just do a fresh install and start over?
