Corrupted Kernel Image?

Well, my computer went down due to powerfailure (is that the correct term in English?) couple of days ago. This has happened sometimes before and it has never led to any serious consequences. But this time things are looking worse, at least for me they are.

When I try to boot up, everything seems fine, Lilo is starting and then "bang". An error message is displayed "Corrupt compressed image", or something. Obviously the kernel bzImage is corrupted, so my question is simply: Any way of restoring the kernel?

Chances are that the entire disk is corrupted, man am I gonna be pissed if so.
The distro running on the box however is Debian unstable.

Do you have Knoppix or any other distro that boots from CD? It'll allow you to mount your partition. Then you access your data and copy kernel image from another source.
