I can't seem to paste anything into the message window from a Linux app. (Kate) What's with that? I've got what I want to paste selected in the Klipper, but it won't paste into this window. I was going to post some of the results from my /var/log/messages file to see if I could get some help on a problem I'm having with my internet connection, but I guess it ain't gonna happen today.
This is just one more reason why Linux isn't ready for prime time. These little things are REALLY aggravating.
Um, you can highlight the text to be pasted, then using either the middle button (or wheel), or both of the 2 side buttons click inside the area where to text is to be pasted, and it will paste.
This is much better than the short keys you may have learned/memorized in win such as CTRL C to copy and CTRL V to paste...

Yes, both the wheel button and the side button seem to work. Thanks a lot.
What I can't figure out is I cleared the clip board and the stuff was still pasting into the window when I did Ctrl-v. Same thing if I went to the browser edit menu and clicked on paste. Apparently, clearing the clip board doesn't really clear the clip board.
