copy old harddrive to new one

I copied my old drive to a new bigger drive.
I used cp -rp /storage-old/* /storage

/dev/sdd1 459G 388G 48G 90% /storage-old
/dev/sde1 917G 352G 519G 41% /storage

How do I find out what is missing?
I'm used the new /storage.

I'd go with the diff command

Hidden files, beginning with '.'. The cp command does not copy hidden files by default. If you get rid of the *, it should copy the hidden files. But now you need to use other options, to prevent recopying all those gigabytes of files already copied. I'd use rsync instead.
