Convert ext3 to ext4

Hello,

Any advice on how to convert ext3 to ext4? I'd like to convert partitions which I use for virtual machines (vmware-server and virtualbox). I use Ubuntu 9.10 as vmware-server host and Gentoo as virtualbox host.

Thanks,

I used fsarchiver on the System Rescue CD to do it. You can image the partition from one fs type and restore it to another fs type.

Using tune2fs should work just fine. There's a nice little guide at http://ext4.wiki.kernel.org/index.ph...system_to_ext4 and a more complete one at http://www.cyberciti.biz/tips/linux-...le-system.html

Thanks to all of you for reply.

I've used tune2fs.

Code:
# umount /dev/sdb7
# tune2fs -O extents,uninit_bg,dir_index /dev/sdb7
# fsck -pf /dev/sdb7
# mount /dev/sdb7
