configuring cgi-bin in apache


Newbie Warning!

I had installed and configured Apache in my slackware 9 machine.

Now i'am lerning perl and need to test them on my localhost, when i run the test script by: http://localhost/cgi-bin/cgitest
It says : Forbidden Access.

I am logged in as root
Please tell me what to do.

Did you have set the right permissions on the cgitest file ?
(i.e. chown apache.apache cgitest; chmod 755 cgitest)

If you created it as root, you cant run it with apache (Or does your apache run as root??? I hope not)
