Configuration for VIM editor

Anyone can provide their nice configuration for vim editor? I an new to it. I often write java codes. Today I use vim to edit my java codes, I found that the tab width is 8 but 4. And the font of the vim is not good either. Anyone provide their configuration file would be appreciated. Or provide some tutorial will be better since I want to learn it as well.

Thanks in advance.

How can I configure the .vimrc file, so that when I edit my code, and I type ), }, ] these symbols, it will trace back (, {, [, so that I know it matches.
Thanks
