Hello XavierP I am back. I was jus thinking if it is much better connect online using my usb. It works with windows xp, but I don't know how to do the settings for red hat 9.0
thanks
Ethernet will give much better speeds - and it is easier to set up (at least it is in my experience), plus, should you decide to network, all the hard work is already done.
I have never had a usb connection work for more than 10 minutes in Linux - it is possible, but I always use ethernet.
I trust you and that. I am just very new with linux world. If you want to continue helping me that would be great.
I went to linux and I got in the desktop or x server and there I check hardware and I saw my ethernet card's name Realtek RT 8139 Family PCI Fast EThernet NIC.
Thanks
Scroll down the screen until you get to the "Unix (Linux)" section. Choose the download next to "Linux driver for kernel 2.4.x (RedHat 7.2/ 7.3/ 8.0/ 9.0)".
Extract the file - you will see 3 files. One of them is ReadMe.txt. Follow the instructions and all should be well. The file is 24kb in size while zipped, so if you can't see C in Linux, you can copy it with a floppy disk.
