client-error-bad-request when trying to print with lp
Hi
I am unable to print anything with the lp command, I´m trying:
lp -d <printer> <filename>
I have an Epson FX-80 printer with a raw driver and CUPS. This works great, I can launch test pages with no problem...
But now when I try to print a plain text file using lp command this message is always returned:
lp: unable to print file: client-error-bad-request
I really need the lp command because is the command used by our Oracle system to print (whe are using RedHat Enterprise 3)
So... the printers is well configured as CUPS can print but... why can´t I print with the lp or lpr commands? This was working 2 days ago and "suddenly" it stopped to work.
Thanks in advance
Regards

Hi,
Thanks for your update.
That doesn´t seem to work for me. The printer is a windows printer, I connect with samba
And Oracle applications use "lp -d <device> <file>" so I really need this commands to work at OS level.
It stopped running syuddenly, I´ve sent at least 50 print jobs yesterday with this command.
And the printer is well configured as I can send test pages from CUPS or the printer admin tool...
Thanks
Regards
pd: the distro is Redhat Enterprise 3.0
