Clean way to uninstall apps installed from source
Excuse me, there've been threads telling how to install packages from source
what about cleanly and safely uninstalling those from-source-installed apps??? I've heard about make uninstall, but not all packages have that rule Do I have to locate the related files and rm them 1 by 1 ??? |
Look into checkinstall.

checkinstall is great....
but if ou choose not to use that, then maybe you should take advantage of the --prefix= parameter of a configure script.... ans install programs you may later want to uninstall to a folder that you can remember.... maybe prexix=/usr/local/programX |
