Character Display insane!!!


HI.... i use a program here in my red hat 7.3 and everything looks alright, all the windows border (in text mode) are show ok.

But when I instaled red hat 9, the screen goes crazy, the borders are showing the Í char, the background the Ú...

Dows anyone know whats happening???

if your talking about ncurses, i have the same problem (but not in redhat), its because of the locale, when i set mine to UTF-8 ncurses basically did that, its probably because the locale you use replaces fonts found in another locale that ncruses uses.

look at the LC_* environment variables.

i don't know how its done in redhat, but those variables are what programs use to determine what locale and language to use
