Changing primary monitor in X11

Hey all,

My video card has a VGA and DVI outputs and I recently added another monitor onto the VGA output. The second monitor (which is on the left) is working properly, but I want to graphical login screen and screen 0 to be located on the left. I have messed around with the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file for a while with no avail. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

/etc/X11/xorg.conf:

How about switching (physically) your monitors and changing this:
Quote:
Section "ServerLayout"
Identifier "Multihead layout"
Screen 0 "Screen0" LeftOf "Screen1"
Screen 1 "Screen1" 0 0
InputDevice "Keyboard0" "CoreKeyboard"
Option "Xinerama" "off"
Option "Clone" "on"
EndSection
to this: (changed only changing "LeftOf" to "RightOf")

Code:
Section "ServerLayout"
Identifier "Multihead layout"
Screen 0 "Screen0" RightOf "Screen1"
Screen 1 "Screen1" 0 0
InputDevice "Keyboard0" "CoreKeyboard"
Option "Xinerama" "off"
Option "Clone" "on"
EndSection
This should make the trick.

Cheers,

Since you're using the nvidia drivers try running 'nvidia-settings' it'll help a lot in configuring this kind of stuff.
