Changing GRUB

I just installed Kubuntu on a slave harddisk (MEPIS is on no 1 and data on an external USB Maxtor).

However it always starts Kubuntu even though I select disk 1 in the boot sequence.

How do I edit Grub? or similar to get the choice of starting either Kubuntu or MEPIS?

I guess you want to see Grub, but I don't know where to get the content,

If yuo can help I would appreciate it thanks.

I will prefer Kubuntu over anything else, as it promises to be a 100% non-commercial offer. KDE is preferred, as an OS will have to have an integrated look and function to beat MS functionality. (I have even forgotten the name of the largest alternative)

The Grub configuration file is
Code:

/boot/grub/grub.conf
(in some distros the file name is menu.lst and some have both with one a link to the other).

If you mount the partition containing the grub.conf file for MEPIS, you can open the grub.conf files for Kubuntu and MEPIS in screen editors and copy and paste the MEPIS entry to the file for Kubuntu. You will probably want to increase the timeout value (in seconds) in the file too.
