change swap partition size?
How can i change the size of the swap partition with the system already installed ? i mean is it the same thing as partitioning other types as well ?(i use fdisk ) thanks
Which distro are you running?
If you have the free diskspace, just add another swap partiton.
do a man -k swap
but I think it's :
either swapon or swapctl
and finaly add entry to /etc/fstab for new swap.
thanks and sorry for the delay , but , this is what i have :
Filename Type Size Used Priority
/dev/hda7 partition 746948 0 -1
what do you mean add another one ? i want to make this one smaller . do you mean two split it in two swaps?
by the way i`m using slackware
Bless you my child
How much ram do you have? The rule of thumb is swap is
twice the size of ram? The less ram the more swap you need.
swapon -a /dev/hda7 or what ever the paritition is now
adjust /etc/fstab as needed
