cgi-bin script: turn off computer

Hey

I'm currently trying to find out how to write a CGI script which would turn off a system. I don't want to install webmin on the system.

Can anyone point me in the direction of some useful sites about writing CGI scripts for this purpose?

Thanks
hamish

Why do you want to use CGI to shut down your computer? This sounds like it could be a big security problem. Can't you just SSH into the computer and shut it down from there?

No. It won't be a computer which is online. It is for a computer in a booth which people can use to do a certain thing, and I need the clients to be able to turn it off using a simple click of a mouse button.
