CentOS or Debian for me?

Okay so I have built a PC from spare parts at work so I have my own little desktop, nothing powerful, its an old Dell Optiplex 390 with Core i3 and 4GB RAM and I simply want it so I can access my emails via Firefox, do some light programming when I am bored and youtube.
Of course both of these systems fit the bill well but I am looking for some other features.
So I want KDE 5 and possibly with repos, I then want to be able to hook it up via ethernet to my laptop so I can get Internet access, until I source a cheap USB device.
I also would like easy upgrades to latest LTS kernels, just so I know any hardware I may add (GPUs, Wireless devices etc etc) plus general improvements.
I can use either Debian or CentOS package managers, I have experience with both.
Suggestions?

Many thanks!

I suggest that you install both distributions and dual boot. Sooner or later you will develop a preference for one or the other.

I'll agree with jailbait that you really need to test them and maybe others for the best reply.

I might however also suspect that maybe your choice would lean toward Debian but do try some distro's directly. Now is the time to test.

+1 for both, they are "free."

I would guess that Debian has the bigger repos?

Neither.
Does CentOS or Debian even have a repo/support for KDE 5 Plasma?

Just install OpenSUSE. Better desktop distro than both of those combined, but not as heavy as Ubuntu.

I would not play with fire here.

Get Fedora or Ubuntu, you will rest well at night knowing that everything will work the next day.
