the top link images are that of an installation cd.
you will not see that upon first boot of a live cd. you can only install from the live cd after you have logged in. the live cd allows you to evaluate before you install
the live cd and the installation cd(s) are not the same thing
what a pain in the butt this is... I tried the 6 cd method and when i go to install it just reboots..
i put the live cd in and selected network install then put in disk 1 when asked. seems to be moving on.. Ill keep you posted..
hopefully someone else can learn from my fun

no, dont give up. centos is a very good and stable operating system. fedora is ok as a test or development box.
why dont you do an install from a dvd? download the iso and burn to disk
must be bad code i tried several other images and i get various errors..

Please append a correct "root=" boot option

well after many hoops I managed to get the network installer to run HOWEVER.... i get an error of could not find some tcp package. So I dont know . I am going to try and burn a new set from a different mirror
